Cenote Don Lucio

Location: 20.14190, -87.57490 (Yucatán, Mexico)

A dry entrance: a low entry goes down a bit into a bigger room with a very muddy floor. Many bats live in the cave, so use only a small (backup) light to find your way to the cenote, where the line starts above the water.

Sidemount cave certification required: some places are very low, and visibility can drop to zero. At most 3 divers per dive, and no training dives.

The lines (as described on 26.07.2014 - not all lines and jumps are described: the cave was still under exploration, be careful). After entering the cave, follow the line; it turns right. Then: Roter Sand: after about 10 minutes, a jump to the right (arrow: Roter Sand) - a nice short line with several jumps to the left and right, and possible silt. Mainline: follow it without any jump - a nice line, with a jump to the left to the TWA line. Ich will - Mein Teil: stay on the mainline; after 20 minutes a nice restriction, after 25 minutes a jump to the right (arrow: Ich will - Mein Teil). It gets very low and silty, a bedding plane, with no visibility at all on the way back - a single track. Liebe ist für alle da: stay on the mainline; at the arrow "fijf", a jump to the left (arrow: Liebe ist für alle da); follow this line.

Some lines are single tracks, very small and silty, too narrow for two divers side by side.
